Your Career Preferences help us understand what types of job opportunities are most relevant to you. You can update preferences such as location, schedule, compensation, employment type, and contact preferences.
Completing your Career Preferences helps Doximity provide more relevant job recommendations and recruiter outreach.
NOTE: Your Career Preferences are confidential and are not visible on your public Doximity profile.
Update Career Preferences on the Doximity Website
To access your Career Preferences from the website:
- Log in to your Doximity account.
- Click your profile icon (initials or photo) in the bottom-left corner.
- Click Settings at the top of the dropdown menu.
- Click Careers on the left side of the page.
- From the Career Preferences Settings page, you will see several options you can enable or edit.
NOTE: Toggles will appear green when enabled and gray when disabled.

NOTE: The sections outlined below reflect the full Career Preferences experience available on the Doximity website. Some options are also available in the Doximity app; however, iOS displays an abbreviated version of the available settings.
Actively Seeking a New Job
Turn on the I am actively seeking a new job toggle if you would like to be contacted about career opportunities.
Contact Preferences
Use Contact Preferences to choose how you would like recruiters to contact you.
You can select from:
- Email & Phone
- Email Only
- Phone Only
- Doximity Inbox Only
Retired
Turn on the Retired toggle if you are no longer working and do not want to be contacted about job opportunities.
Career Stage
If the Retired toggle is not enabled, your career stage will default to Practicing.
Click Edit next to Career Stage to update additional career details and preferences.
You can complete each section in order or click Edit next to one of the specific sections (listed below) to access and update that section directly.
Additional Career Preference Sections
Timeline and Specialization
Access this section to update:
- Specialty
- Preferred employment type
- Visa requirements
- Target start date, if desired
Preferred Location
Access this section to add your preferred location or locations and specify your desired distance from the city center.
Role, Compensation, and Benefits
Access this section to update preferences such as:
- Practice environment
- Hourly compensation expectation
- Assignment type
- Shift type
- Availability
- Compensation baseline
- Call schedule
- Position type, such as permanent or locum tenens
Personal Priorities
Access this section to select your top three career priorities.
Available options include:
- Location
- Compensation
- Career growth
- Life balance
- Paying off debt
- Prestigious institution
- Community impact
You can also add additional details in the What else influences your decision? field.
Edit Your Doximity Profile
Under Edit your Doximity profile to update profile details such as your specialty, training, and licensure, click Edit.
Selecting this option will redirect you to your Doximity profile, where you can update your profile details.
Unsubscribe From Career Opportunities
At the bottom of the Career Preferences page, you can enable the Unsubscribe from all career opportunities toggle if you are no longer working and do not want to receive career-related messages.
Update Career Preferences in the Doximity App
NOTE: Some Career Preferences can be updated in the Doximity app. However, on iOS, the app displays an abbreviated version of the available settings. For full access to all Career Preference settings, log in to your Doximity account from the website.
To access Career Preferences from the Doximity app:
- Open the Doximity app.
- Tap the News tab.
- Tap your profile photo or initials in the upper-right corner.
On iOS:
- Tap Jobs
- Tap the Settings icon in the upper-right corner.
- You will be directed to the Career Settings page. From this page, you can:
- Tap the toggle next to Actively Seeking Jobs if you would like to be contacted about career opportunities.
- Tap Career Preferences to view, edit, or update your career preference options.
On Android:
- Tap Top Jobs for You
- Tap the Settings icon in the upper-right corner.
- You will be directed to the Career Settings page. From this page, you can:
- Tap the toggle next to Actively seeking employment if you would like to be contacted about career opportunities.
- Tap Career Preferences to view, edit, or update your career preference options.
NOTE: Toggles will appear blue when enabled and gray when disabled.
