How to Schedule a Text on iOS
To schedule a text:
- Open up the Doximity app and tap on the Dialer tab.
- Type in a number on your dialer dial pad.
- Tap the green Text button at the bottom left of the dial pad.
- Tap the Compose button.
- After you compose your text message, tap the Schedule button
You will see a drop-down menu of options that you will be able to choose from:
If you choose to schedule a text using the Custom option, you can select the exact date and time you’d like the message to be sent. Once selected, tap the checkmark in the upper-right corner to confirm.
NOTE: Texts can only be scheduled up to 7 days in advance.
Once you have composed your message and scheduled a time to send it, tap on the checkmark icon in the upper-right corner to submit your message.
How to Schedule a Text on Android
To schedule a text:
- Open up the Doximity app and tap on the Dialer tab.
- Type in a number on your dialer dial pad.
- Tap the green Send Text button at the bottom left of the dial pad.
- Tap the blue Send Text button.
- After you compose your text message, tap on Schedule located in the upper right.
You can choose to send your text now or at a later date.

How to Cancel a Text on the App
- Tap on the Dialer tab.
- iOS - Tap on History located in the upper left corner.
- Android - Tap on the Clock icon located in the upper right-hand corner.
- If not already selected, tap on the Text tab at the top.
- Tap on the scheduled text you wish to cancel.
- iOS - Tap on Cancel text
- Android - Tap on Cancel Send
How to Schedule a Scheduled Text on the Doximity Website (Desktop)
To schedule a text:
- Log in to your Doximity profile.
- Click on the Dialer tab (located on the left side of the screen).
- Type in the patient's number and click on the green Text button.
- Next, a message composition window will open, allowing you to draft your message.
- Compose your message, then click on Send Now in the bottom-right corner.
- Selecting Send Now will open a pop-up scheduling window where you can choose a specific date and time for your message to be delivered.
- Enter a Date and Time.
NOTE: Texts can only be scheduled up to 7 days in advance.
- Once you’ve finished scheduling your message, click the blue Schedule button in the bottom-left corner of the composition window to submit your message.
How to Cancel a Scheduled Text on the Doximity Website (Desktop)
- Click on the Dialer tab (located on the left side of the screen).
- Under the Dialer tab, you’ll see the options Video, Voice, and Text. Select Text to view your message history.
- On the left side of the page, select the scheduled message you wish to cancel in your message history.
- Hover your mouse over the body of the scheduled text message until you see two icons appear to the left of the message.
- Select the Unsend icon (left-pointing arrow) to cancel the scheduled text.
- When prompted, click on the Cancel Text button to confirm.
- Once canceled, the scheduled text will be deleted from history.
