Adding colleagues on Doximity helps you stay connected with other verified medical professionals in your network.
When you add someone as a colleague, they are added to your Colleagues list, making it easier to find their profile and communicate with them. You can also choose to share private contact information with colleagues, including mobile numbers, backlines, pagers, and email addresses.
Colleague connections are also required in order to use Doximity Messages. To send a Doximity Message, both users must be verified Doximity members and must be mutually connected as colleagues.
If you do not see the option to send a Doximity Message, this may mean:
- You are not verified
- The recipient is not verified
- You and the recipient are not mutually connected as colleagues
How to Add a Colleague
Go to the user’s profile
Click the blue Add Colleague button in the upper-right of the page.
A confirmation notification will appear in the bottom-left corner of the page confirming that the user has been added as a colleague.
A pop-up will also appear in the middle of the page with the option to send a personal message to your requested colleague.
If you do not want to send a message with your request, click Cancel or Skip to close the optional message pop-up.
An add colleague request will then be sent to your colleague. If your colleague confirms your request, you will be mutually connected and will be able to use Doximity Messages to send messages to each other.
How To Remove a Colleague
You can remove colleagues at any time.
NOTE: Colleagues can only be removed from the Doximity website at this time.
To remove a colleague:
- Log in to your Doximity account.
- Click Colleagues on the right side of the home page.
- Click the profile of the colleague you would like to remove.
- On their profile page, click the blue Colleague button located in the upper right of the page.
- When prompted, click OK to confirm that you want to remove them
- The selected colleague will then be removed from your Colleagues list.
