You can now call a patient from a text or email that you have received with their phone number. You can also initiate a video call directly from your contacts on iOS.
Initiate an audio call from a text message or email:
- When you receive a phone number via text message or email, long press on the phone number until a menu of options appears
- Tap on the 'Doximity' option
- Your audio call will placed through Doximity Dialer using the Caller ID you have selected in the app at the time
If you have 'VoIP Calling' enabled, your call will be automatically placed. If you do not VoIP enabled, you will be directed to tap on the relay number before placing the call.
Initiate an audio call from your contacts (iOS):
- Open up the Contact of the patient you wish to call
- Long press on the call button until a menu of options appear
- Tap on the 'Doximity' option
Initiate a video call from your contacts (iOS):
- Open up the Contact of the patient you wish to call
- Long press on the video call button until a menu of options appears
- Tap on the 'Doximity' option
- A video invite text message will be sent to your patient and you will be brought directly into the video room to wait for them to join
PLEASE NOTE: You must have iOS version 17.0 or later and the Doximity app version 15.2.1 or later in order to use this feature. We recommend keeping your phone and Doximity app up-to-date for the best experience.
