How to Block or Report a User in Messages

Doximity gives you options for managing unwanted or inappropriate messages.

If a message is inappropriate, you can use Report spam to notify Doximity administrators. If you no longer want a user to contact you, you can block them from sending future messages.

Report a Message as Spam

Use the Report spam option if you would like to notify Doximity administrators about an inappropriate message.

To report a message:

  • Open the message you would like to report.
  • Click the Report spam icon in the upper-right corner of the message screen.
  • This will notify the Doximity administrative team so the message can be reviewed and appropriate action can be taken as needed.

Block a User From Messaging You

To block a user from sending you future messages:

  • Open the message from the user you would like to block.
  • Click the three dots next to the date and time stamp of the message.
  • Select the option to block the user.
  • When prompted, click Block to confirm that you would like to block the user.
  • Once confirmed, the user will be blocked from sending you future messages.

Unblock a User

If you decide to unblock a user later, you can do so from your Message Settings.

To access your Message Settings:

  • Navigate to your Message Inbox
  • Review the list of users you have blocked.
  • Click on the 'Trash icon' next to the user you would like to unblock.
  • When prompted, confirm that you would like to remove the block.
  • Once removed, the user will no longer be blocked from messaging you.
