DocDefender is a free privacy protection service available to eligible healthcare professionals on Doximity.
DocDefender manages the removal of personal information (like your home address and phone number) from public websites, including people-finder sites and public data brokers. The service includes ongoing scans and year-round monitoring at no cost.
Who Is Eligible for DocDefender and How Do I Sign Up?
Eligible members include:
Physicians
Nurse Practitioners
Physician Assistants
CRNAs
Pharmacists
To enroll, visit:
https://www.doximity.com/docdefender
Then click the blue “Start Here” button to begin.
How it works:
After verifying your age, home city, and email address, DocDefender will begin scanning the 30+ leading people-finder sites and public data brokers for your private contact information and will submit removal requests on your behalf. Removal requests are sent to people finder sites shortly after the scan finishes.
While some removals happen in a few days, others can take several weeks.
You can track removal progress in real time from your DocDefender privacy report page.
NOTE: DocDefender removes information only from sites that exclusively publish personal information. It does not modify professional profiles (e.g., HealthGrades or Vitals).
How can I manage my account?
You can manage your enrollment in DocDefender on the DocDefender Settings page.
Will Doximity sell my information?
No. Doximity takes privacy seriously and will never sell your email, home address, or phone number.
