Starting a Dialer Call with Siri

Dialer Voice and Video calls can be started hands-free through Siri commands.
Siri support for Dialer calls is available via the Doximity app for any iOS devices that support Siri commands.

How to start a Dialer Voice or Video call with Siri

  1. Make sure you have installed Doximity app and successfully linked your phone through the Dialer tab
  2. Make sure you have selected the Caller ID that you wish to appear to your patient when you call
  3. Unlock your phone's home screen
  4. Start a Siri call with the following commands. Your call should initiate immediately. 

Voice calls:

  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> with Doximity"

Dialer Video calls:

  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> with Doximity Video"
  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> with Doximity Video Call"

Why do I see a "Calling Doximity" message, then the call starts from my native calling app?
Make sure that you have installed the Doximity app, and logged in.

Why do I see a "You'll need to continue in Doximity" message?

Make sure you have successfully linked your phone through the Dialer tab

Why did the call start with the native iOS phone app?

Make sure that your phone is unlocked
Make sure one of the following phrases:

  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> with Doximity"
  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> using Doximity"
  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> on Doximity"

'Dialer' is an ambiguous command, so do not use the following phrases:

  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> with Dialer"
  • "Hey Siri, call <<phone number>> with Doximity Dialer"
