How To Use The Patient Callback Feature - Enterprise Only

Doximity Dialer Enterprise users can allow patients to return a Dialer Voice call for a limited period of time using the Patient Callback feature.

When enabled, the patient will receive a temporary Callback Line that connects their call to your designated Forwarding Number without sharing your personal phone number.

How to Enable Patient Callback

After completing a Dialer Voice call:

  • From the Call Summary screen, select Allow 1-Hour Callback.
  • If desired, select a different callback duration.
  • Once enabled, the patient will receive a text message containing the number they can use to return your call.
    • The selected duration determines how long the Callback Line will remain active.

How Patient Callback Works

When Patient Callback is enabled, the patient will receive a text message containing a temporary Callback Line.

The Callback Line is a secure bridge number that connects the patient's call to your Forwarding Number while keeping your personal phone number private.

Important Notes

  • The Callback Line sent to the patient is a secure bridge number that forwards the patient's call to your designated Forwarding Number.
  • Your Forwarding Number is the phone number where you want to receive patient callbacks, such as your mobile phone.
  • Your Forwarding Number is never shared with patients.
  • After the callback window expires, calls to the Callback Line will automatically redirect to your Caller ID number.

IMPORTANT: If a Forwarding Number has not been set, patient callbacks will automatically route to the Caller ID number used when placing the original Dialer Voice call.

For example, if you placed the call using your office number as your Caller ID, patient callbacks will be routed to that office number.

Changing Your Callback Duration

The Callback Duration determines how long patients can use the temporary Callback Line to return your call.

The default Callback Duration is 1 hour. You can change the default in your Dialer settings and select a duration between 1 and 6 hours.

Your selected duration will apply to future callback sessions until you change it again.
