Doximity Dialer Enterprise offers Closed Captioning for video calls, allowing spoken conversations to appear as real-time text on the screen.
This feature is designed to improve accessibility and communication during video visits, particularly for individuals who are hard of hearing or participating in calls from noisy environments.
How Closed Captioning Works
Closed Captioning can only be enabled or disabled by the clinician.
When the clinician enables the feature, captions appear on both sides of the video call, allowing the clinician and patient to follow the conversation through on-screen text.
Important Information About Closed Captioning
Language Support
Closed Captioning is currently available in English only.
Caption Duration
Captions automatically disappear after approximately 3 seconds of silence.
This is intentional, as the feature is designed to caption active speech rather than maintain a transcript of the conversation.
Picture-in-Picture Mode
When a Dialer Video call is minimized in Picture-in-Picture mode on a mobile device, captions are not displayed.
This is a privacy safeguard intended to prevent captioned conversation text from appearing in the floating video window.
