Important Notes & Limitations of Dialer Scribe:
NOTE: The Scribe toggle on the Dialer dial pad controls whether Scribe automatically launches when you connect to Dialer Voice and Video calls.
If you prefer to start Scribe manually during each call, keep this toggle turned OFF and select Scribe from the in-call menu when needed.
IMPORTANT: Dialer Scribe does not currently support adding additional participants or interpreters to calls.
Using Scribe on Mobile (iOS & Android)
Open the Doximity app on your phone.
-
Before starting your Dialer Voice or Video call, you can use the Scribe toggle on the main Dialer dial pad to control whether Scribe launches automatically when your call begins.
When the Scribe toggle is turned ON, Scribe will automatically launch as soon as you connect to your Dialer Voice or Video call. This setting will remain enabled for future Dialer Voice and Video calls unless you turn the toggle OFF.
If you do not want Scribe to automatically launch when joining calls, keep the Scribe toggle turned OFF. You can still start Scribe manually during an active Voice or Video call by selecting the Scribe option from the in-call menu.
Enter your patient's phone number and tap on the green Phone or Video icon to start a Dialer Voice or Video call.
-
If Scribe is not already active (Scribe toggle turned OFF), tap the Scribe option from the in-call menu when you are ready to begin transcribing.
If your Scribe toggle was turned ON, Scribe will already be active upon joining your call.

On Voice calls, your patient will hear a notification that the call is being recorded/transcribed.
This notification will play when the call connects if Scribe is automatically enabled (Scribe toggle ON).
If you start Scribe manually (Scribe toggle OFF), the notification will play when you enable Scribe from the in-call menu.
On Video calls, a notice will briefly appear for patients notifying them that the call is being transcribed.
-
Proceed with your Voice or Video call.
You will see a menu on the call screen indicating that Scribe is assisting. Scribe will capture the conversation.
When you are done transcribing, you can either end the call or tap End on the Scribe is assisting menu to complete the transcription and begin generating your note.
-
When ending your Scribe transcription via the 'Scribe is assisting' menu, you will see the option to:
End your transcription → begin generating your note.
Cancel/Discard the transcription → discard without generating a note.
To access this feature, tap on the 'Scribe is assisting' menu to see an expanded view of this menu.
On iOS:

End → save and generate your note.
Cancel → delete your transcription without creating a note.
