How to Use PayorProof in Doximity Scribe

PayorProof is a Doximity Scribe feature that helps clinicians identify potential documentation gaps related to insurance coverage requirements.

PayorProof reviews your clinical notes against relevant insurance payor coverage policies, identifies potential documentation gaps, and recommends edits supported by policy citations.

By comparing your completed Scribe note and visit transcript against relevant payer policies, PayorProof can recommend changes to help ensure your documentation addresses applicable coverage criteria.

Each suggestion includes supporting policy citations and must be approved before it is applied to your note.

Starting a PayorProof Review

  1. Open a completed note in Doximity Scribe.
  2. Locate the Doximity Ask panel and select the PayorProof option labeled PayorProof
Find documentation gaps for payor review.
  3. PayorProof will analyze your note and transcript to identify medications, procedures, or other items that may have applicable insurance coverage requirements.
  4. It will then compare your documentation against the relevant payor policies and identify any potential gaps.

Reviewing and Applying Suggested Edits

Once PayorProof completes its analysis, suggested edits will appear highlighted directly within your note.

  • Select Accept to approve a suggested edit or Reject to decline it.
  • Use the editing toolbar to move between suggestions.
  • Select Accept All if you wish to approve all suggested edits.
  • Once the suggested changes are accepted or rejected, you can continue editing your note or run PayorProof again if needed.

NOTE: If a suggestion requires information that is not available in your note or transcript, such as treatment duration or patient risk status, PayorProof will display an input field where you can provide the missing details.

PayorProof will not generate or assume missing clinical information.

Reviewing Payor Policy Citations

Each suggested edit includes a citation to the supporting payor policy, including:

  • The insurance payor
  • The relevant excerpt from the coverage policy
  • A link to the original policy source

These citations allow you to review the coverage requirements supporting each recommendation before accepting a suggested change.

IMPORTANT: PayorProof will not invent missing clinical information or modify your note without your approval. All suggested edits must be reviewed and approved by the clinician before they are applied.

Providing Feedback

After completing a PayorProof review, you can select Helpful or Not Helpful to provide feedback on the results.
